I-7). In particular, the Regulations lay down provisions relating to the exploitation of oil and gas in Indian lands. Section 6 establishes that every person who proposes to conduct exploratory work on Indian lands, including land in a permit or lease area, shall first obtain an exploratory licence. The text, consisting of 59 sections, deals, inter alia, with the following aspects: granting of permits and leases, well licence, permit rights, permit fee, lease rights, surface rights, royalties, survey plans, inspections, confidential information.
