This standard applies to vegetables of the varieties (cultivars) of Spinacia oleracea L., to be exported and for supply fresh to the consumer after preparation and packaging. Spinach intended for industrial processing, is not covered by the present regulations. This standard defines also the minimum quality requirements to be met by spinach after preparation and packaging, classification, sizing, packaging and presentation, marking and labelling.
