Abstract

This Act empowers the Minister of Finance to make, by Order, Regulations as he or she may deem expedient for the purpose of controlling the importation into The Bahamas of goods. The Minister may also appoint the competent authority for purposes of enforcing the Regulations made under this Act. The competent authority may delegate any powers conferred upon it by Regulations in respect of the grant of or refusal to grant any licence, certificate, permit or other authorization required by the Import Regulations. The Act also defines offences.
