Abstract

These Rules mainly define tasks of the Department and Agriculture for the purpose of implementing through Board of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) provisions of the Fisheries Code of the Philippines of 1998. The 131 rules are divided into 9 Chapters: Declaration of policy and definitions (I); Utilisation, management, development, conservation and allocation system of fisheries and aquatic resources (II); Reconstitution of the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources and creation of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Councils (III); Fisheries reserves, refuges, and sanctuaries (IV); Fisheries Research and development (V); Prohibitions and penalties (VI); General provisions (VII); Transitory provisions (VIII); Final provisions (IX).
