The present Ordinance enters into force retroactively on 1 January 2012.
Abstract

The present Ordinance implements the Veterinary Ordinance of 26 October 2011. Article 1 establishes that according to federal legislation compensation for loss of animals shall be denied if, inter alia, the sick animals were not given the necessary treatment and care; and if veterinary findings to confirm the diagnosis are missing. The text – consisting of 13 articles deal with the following aspects: facilities to dispose of carcasses, emergency slaughtering places, animal health profession subject to authorization, costs of control of animal diseases, repeal and entry into force.
