Abstract These Regulations are formulated in accordance with article 98 of the Irrigation Act. Chapter 1 gives the clear definitions for surface water, groundwater, flood prevention, irrigation, drainage, soil conservation; canalization, etc. Chapter 2 establishes the duties of the Responsible Agency regarding the division of the irrigation district. Chapter 3 provides for the criteria of determination of a water right. Chapter 4 gives the procedures for the registration of a water right. Chapter 5 regulates the procedures for the application of an irrigation work and gives detailed rules of conditions to carry out irrigation works. Chapter 6 provides for the working condition and criteria of storage and release of floodwater. Chapter 7 gives the scope of watercourse maintenance. Chapter 8 is about fees.
