Abstract These Measures were promulgated by the Ministry of Public Health on May 3, 1991, and are applicable to most villages in China. For villages where water supply is carried out on a centralized basis, the choice and protection of water sources and the project design shall be in line with the Standard. For the disperse water supply villages, the local government shall authorize relative organizations to be in charge of the choice of water source, examination of water quality, the sanitary protection and the daily administration.
