Abstract

This Regulation, issued by the Ministry of Regional Municipalities and Water Resources, consists of 12 articles and gives health rules and conditions for Omani halwa factories. It provides for: a necessary municipal license; location and details for interior decor, equipment and materials used during the processing phases. It also gives regulations for workers, such as health card, annual medical examination, uniforms, caps and boots and personal cleanliness. The factory shall be divided in three divisions: (i) halwa processing hall; (ii) display and sale place; and (iii) raw materials and packages store. For each division are given specifications.
