Abstract

In implementation of Directive 77/99/EEC, these Regulations lay down rules governing the production and placing on the market of meat products and other products of animal origin intended, after treatment, for human consumption or for the preparation of foodstuffs. General rules for meat products which may be placed on the market are set out in regulations 3 and 4. Further detailed requirements are laid down in the Schedules attached. These requirements concern in particular veterinary checks, packaging, labelling, storage and transport, hygienic conditions in establishments.
