The Port Authority - a public-law institution having legal capacity – shall be entrusted with the development, expansion and management of the port of Hamburg, including the building of the required public infrastructure for all port users, the settlement of companies and the leasing of port plots of land. Article 8 outlines the duties and approval reservations of the Supervisory Board and Article 12 of the text provides for relationships with the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg. The text further provides for collection of fees, charges, and levies; accounting, annual financial statements; financial control; and exemption from levies, fees, and taxes.
