This Order, consisting of 42 sections divided into seven Parts and completed by four Schedules, provide for and regulate the issue of certificates and permits in respect of halal food provisions of the Halal Meat Act. It establishes the requirements to be met for benefiting from a Halal Certificate. When exhibited in any place of business, the certificate shall mean that the food in relation to which the certificate is referring to the following: neither is nor consists of or contains any part or matter of an animal that a Muslim is prohibited by Hukum Syara to consume or that has not been slaughtered in accordance with Hukum Syara; does not contain anything that is considered to be impure in accordance with Hukum Syaraf; has been prepared using an instrument that is free from anything which is considered to be impure in accordance with Hukum Syara; and has not in the course of preparation or storage, been in contact with or close proximity to any food that fails to satisfy paragraph (a, b, c) and anything that is considered to be impure in accordance with Hukum Syara. The Majlis may, after completion of requirements and upon payment of the fee prescribed in the Fourth Schedule, issue a Halal Certificate in the form set out in the First Schedule. In addition, it establishes a committee known as the Halal Certificate and Halal Label Inspection Committee.
