Abstract

This Act establishes the Guyana Tourism Authority as a body corporate and provides for its functions and powers, organization and management. The Act also provides for the licensing and registration of tourism business by the Authority. Before granting a licence, a report shall be obtained from the Director of the Environmental Protection Agency and the Chief Environmental Health Officer. One of the functions of the Authority shall be to advise sustainable land use practices and environmental strategies for the development of tourism in Guyana.
