The functions of the Board shall be to develop the rice industry in Guyana, to promote export of rice, to enhance research on rice, to establish facilities for that purpose, and to extend results of research to farmers for their benefit. The Board shall also be responsible for the grading of rice. The Board may determine different classifications of grades of rice to be purchased, exported or sold on the domestic market. The Act gives a detailed definition of functions of the Board in respect of export of rice.
