It shall be the function of the Commission to promote the interest of mining and mineral exploitation, to explore and exploit mineral resources, to undertake research in relation to exploration and exploitation. The Commission shall be responsible for the enforcement of conditions attached to mining and dredging leases, concessions, exclusive permissions or licences granted under the Mining Act. Other provisions of this Act concern internal organization of the Commission, financial provisions, auditing, and matter of miscellaneous character including the power of the Minister to give directions to the Commission. The Commission may, with the approval of the Minister, make regulations which in the opinion of the Commission are necessary or expedient for carrying into effect of provisions of this Act.
