Further, no such certificate shall be granted in respect of a cow, calf of cow, bull or a bullock. With regards to other animals, a certificate shall not be granted by the competent authority, if in its opinion, the animal is useful for the purpose of draught or any kind of agricultural operations or for the purpose of breeding or providing milk. Section 6B prohibits any person to sell, keep, store, transport, offer or expose for sell or buy beef or beef products in any form. Section 7 makes provision for entering and inspecting any premises if the competent authority or the authorised person has reason to believe that an offence under the Act has been or is likely to be committed. Section 8 provides for penalties for contravention of the provisions of the Act. As per section 13, the Act shall not apply to any animal operated upon for vaccine lymph, serum, or for any experimental or research purposes; and in cases where slaughter is necessary in the interest of public health for reason that the animal is suffering from any disease which is certified by a Veterinary Surgeon as being contagious and dangerous.
