Abstract

These Regulations amend the Ground Water Regulations 2011, in the definition of "agricultural purpose" and by adding a definition of "aquaculture", "penalty" and "penalty bill". The Regulations also provide with respect to a penalty for abstraction of water in excess of the authorised monthly amount. The abstraction of ground water for which fees and penalties are specified includes abstraction for: use in agriculture or aquaculture. It also concerns use of brackish water for desalination and aquaculture.
