Abstract These Rules, consisting of nine Chapters divided into 47 sections, establish that in exercise of the powers conferred by section 18 of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, 1957 (67 of 1957), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules for conservation and systematic development of and scientific mining to conserve, granite resources and to prescribe a uniform framework with regard to systematic and scientific exploitation of granite throughout the country.
