Abstract

Issued pursuant to Council Directive 80/778/EC of 15 July 1980. "Water intended for human consumption" means any water used for that purpose, either in its original state or after appropriate processing, and includes both the public piped water supply and bottled waters put up for sale to the ultimate consumer and, again, water used in the manufacture, processing, preservation of products or substances intended for human consumption where such water may affect the wholesomeness of the food in question. There are four Schedules: I - Parameters; II - Patterns and frequency of standard analyses; III - Reference methods of analysis; and IV - Technical adjuvants and permitted additives for water treatment purposes.
