This Governor’s Decree enters into force 10 days after the date of its official publication.
Abstract

This Governor’s Decree establishes that specific zoological reserve “Zavolzhsky” shall be considered biological reserve destined for conservation and reproduction of valuable rare and endangered wild fauna species that are precious from economic, scientific and cultural points of view. The reserve is constituted for unlimited period of time. The reserve shall perform the following functions: (a) conservation, restoration and reproduction of wild fauna species and the maintenance of ecological balance; (b) conservation of habitat and migration routes of wild fauna species; (c) scientific research; (d) performance of environmental monitoring; and (e) ecological education. The following activities shall be prohibited on the territory of zoological reserve: (a) commercial, artisanal and sport hunting (except for cases envisaged by this Regulation); (b) collection of medicinal plants (except for collection by citizens for individual personal needs); (c) performance of hydro amelioration and irrigation works; (d) recreational activities outside specially assigned areas; (e) stay with firearms and airguns, traps and other hunting gear, including firearms ready for use on public roads, and also with wildlife products; (f) destruction or damage of posts, noticeboards, information signs and indicators, and also of equipped ecological paths and leisure area; and (g) keeping unleashed dogs.
