Abstract

The main targets of environmental monitoring are: 1) data collection and storage regarding the state of environment; 2) creation and keeping databases; 3) analysis of information, assessment of the state of environment and pollution impact thereon; 3) ensuring access to reliable environmental information. The system of environmental monitoring shall be carried out at the national, regional and local levels. The Program has as its purpose improvement of the state of environment, support of the ecological balance on the territory of the Ukraine, ensuring the constitutional right of the citizens to safe environment by improving the efficiency of functioning of the system of environmental monitoring. The objects of the system of monitoring are atmospheric air, water, biological diversity, forest, land, impact of physical factors and geological structure.
