Abstract

This Governmental Decree establishes requirements for the quality of apiculture products, including beeswax, propolis, royal jelly and pollen intended for human consumption, establishes requirements for quality, safety of food, presentation and labeling that must be complied with in the process of production, collection, processing, packaging, storage, transportation and distribution of apiculture products, both domestically produced and imported. This Governmental Decree shall be applicable to apiculture products contained in the Annex and shall not be applicable to apiculture products manufactured in households for home consumption. Quality and safety of apiculture products must ensure compliance with established requirements, food hygiene in the process production, from raw materials to the consumer, also through application of HACCP. Manufacturers of apiculture products provide registration in the certificate of apiaries records of all preventive and curative measures to combat bee diseases. Apiculture products shall be transported by vehicles ensuring proper hygiene and temperature conditions, envisaged by these Requirements. Apiculture products (beeswax, propolis, royal jelly and pollen) intended for consumption by the population, including imported products, may only be placed on the market if they comply with these Requirements.
