Abstract

This Governmental Decree establishes that Agency on nuclear and radiation safety shall be the authorized state institution in the sphere of state regulation for ensuring radiation safety. It establishes the modalities of state regulation in the sphere of ensuring radiation safety, including elaboration and realization of a series of economic, social, scientific, technical and legislative arrangements ensuring protection of human life and health against the impact of ionizing radiation either in the course of normal vital activity or as a result of nuclear disaster. Regulation in the sphere of radiation safety includes arrangements for the prevention, identification and suppression of violations of normative legal acts, including licensing of some activities related to the use of radioactive sources and inspection of organizations and enterprises.
