Governmental Decree No. 474 validating the Regulation on classification of forests by protection status and transfer of forests from one categorey to another.

This Governmental Decree establishes the modalities of classification of forests by protection status and transfer of forests from one categorey to another, specifying that in the process of attribution of protection class to forests shall be taken into consideration comprehensive assortment of forest species complying with specific use of category of protection forest. Protection categories of forests shall be established for public forest fund, forests of protected areas and forests not pertaining to public forest fund. Forest management regime shall be determined in accordance with principal specific use of forests. Transfer of forests from one category to another shall be performed in case of modification of specifi use of forests in accordance with forest inventory and expert opinion expressed by the National Academy of Sciences of Kyrgyz Republic.
