Abstract

This Technical Regulation shall be applicable to foodstuffs circulating on the national territory in relation to labelling thereof. It establishes requirements for labelling of foodstuffs with a view of preventing actions misleading consumers for the purpose of ensuring the right of consumers to reliable information on foodstuffs. It shall not be applicable to foodstuffs distributed through public catering facilities. Labelling of foodstuffs shall be intended information about foodstuffs, applied in the form of inscriptions, pictures, signs, symbols, other designations or combinations thereof, on the consumer package, transport package or other type of information carrier attached to or placed on the consumer package or transport package or attached thereto. Label of foodstuffs must contain the following information: (a) name of foodstuff; (b) composition of foodstuff; (c) amount/quantity of foodstuff; (d) date of manufacture; (e) expiration date; (f) storage conditions; (g) name and location of the manufacturer of foodstuff; (g) recommendations and use restrictions; (h) nutritional values; (i) information of the presence of GMO in foodstuff; and (j) labelling of foodstuffs shall be performed without issuance of authorization. Labelling of accompanying transport documentation must enable traceability of foodstuffs (e.g. indicating lot).
