Abstract

This Governmental Decree, in order to curb the growth rate of prices for socially important goods, to ensure the economic accessibility of food for socially vulnerable segments of the population, establishes to validate the List of socially important goods or which temporary state regulation of prices on the domestic market of the Kyrgyz Republic may be introduced, and the Procedure of state regulation of prices for socially important goods. The List includes cereals, milk, butter, meat, sugar, eggs and potatoes. The Procedure establishes that, depending upon the specific goods, one of the following methods of price regulation for socially important goods applies: (a) price surcharges; (b) maximum prices; and (c) maximum or minimum price surcharges.
