This Governmental Decree enters into force on 1 January 2021.
Abstract

This Regulation establishes the procedure for handling production and consumption waste in terms of lighting devices, electric lamps, improper collection, accumulation, use, neutralization, transportation and disposal of which may cause harm to life, health of citizens, harm to animals, plants and the environment. Consumers of mercury-containing lamps, except for natural persons, who accumulate waste mercury-containing lamps, designate persons responsible for the safe accumulation of mercury-containing lamps and transfer them to the operator. Local government shall organize the creation of accumulation sites for used mercury-containing lamps, as well as informing consumers about the location of such places. The damaged mercury-containing lamps must be stored in sealed transport packaging that prevents environmental pollution and harm to human life and health. Accumulation of spent mercury-containing lamps shall be made separately from other types of waste. Damaged and undamaged mercury lamps shall not be accumulated together. and undamaged mercury-containing lamps must not be accumulated together. Burial of spent mercury-containing lamps is prohibited.
