Abstract

Surfactants and detergents and cleaning agents containing surfactants are intended for washing and cleaning of all types of textiles and dishes, as well as tiles, floors, kitchen utensils and bathroom accessories, industrial and medical equipment. This Technical Regulation establishes the safety indicators for cleaning agents and labelling and packaging requirements, and the procedure for conformity compliance. Trade of cleaning agents on the territory of the Republic of Armenia without certification of conformity compliance shall be prohibited. Cleaning agents subject to mandatory certification of conformity compliance and in circulation on the national territory shall be labelled with conformity mark and accompanied by a certificate of conformity or a registered declaration of conformity. Cleaning agents shall be safe for human life and health both in the production process and during storage, transport and use, must not have a local skin irritant effect and must not have toxic, dermato-resorptive, allergenic, mutagenic, carcinogenic effect on the body. Cleaning agents must not have the property of accumulation in the body (cumulative property). Cleaning agents must have a good solubility in water and must not have a pungent smell. Degree of primary biodegradation of surfactants used for the manufacturing of cleaning agents may not be less than 80 per cent. Degree of complete biodegradation of surfactants used for the production of detergents must reach a minimum of 60 (carbon dioxide) within 28 days.
