Abstract Agency of Food Safety shall be authorized state institution responsible for ensuring food security and compliance assessment of foodstuffs and veterinarian inspection at the level of local self-government. It shall supervise over the following activities: (a) compliance of foodstuffs with the established quality requirements with a view of consumer protection and prevention of risks for human health; (b) food manufacturing and application of good practices; (c) risk management in the field of food security; (d) food safety at all stages of food chain; (e) state control of business entities operating in the field of food production; (f) control of imported raw materials of animal and plant origin destined for food production; (g) control over import and distribution of veterinary drugs in order to prevent spreading of animal diseases (h) control over packaging of foodstuffs.
