This Governmental Decree enters into force on 1 November 2012.
Abstract

This Technical Regulation establishes food safety requirements for poultry eggs and related products (egg yolks, fresh, dried, frozen or sugar added or without the addition of sugar or other sweetening matter) with the exception of canned and boiled poultry products. It establishes requirements for production. Labelling, packaging, storage, transportation, trade and traceability in order to prevent misleading of consumers. It shall not be applicable to poultry products produced by peasant farms and households destined for personal and family consumption. Eggs and poultry products imported to Armenia must be accompanied by veterinary certificates attesting safety and traceability thereof. The following types of eggs and poultry products shall be prohibited for trade: (a) non-complying with this Technical Regulation; (b) without certificate of safety and origin; (c) expired or with unknown expiry date; (d) stored in unmarked packages; and (e) in damaged packages. Eggs shall be classified in two categories: (a) “A” – fresh eggs destined for human consumption; and (b) “B” – used for production of foodstuffs and non-food products.
