This Governmental Decree enters into force on the day following its official publication.
Abstract

The Government decrees to establish state non-commercial organization "Seed Agency" performing the following tasks: (a) legal protection of selection achievements of the Republic of Armenia (plant varieties, seed breeds); (b) creation of effective systems for crop seed production and reproduction; (c) preservation and reproduction of economically and biologically valuable breeds of crop varieties in the process of sorting and testing; (d) carrying out state tests of economic usefulness of new varieties of crops well adapted to the climatic conditions of the Republic of Armenia and submitting proposals on including them in the list of varieties authorized for use in the Republic of Armenia; and (e) creation of modern information systems related to its statutory tasks. State non-commercial organization "Seed Agency" shall perform the following functions: (a) participation in the development and implementation of state programs for selection achievement tests; and (b) in the territory of the Republic of Armenia, within the framework of the state order, the implementation of laboratory examinations of the quality indicators of plant seeds, the approbation of high-yielding varieties of agricultural crops, the graded identification.
