Use of pesticides is prohibited if the pesticide is not registered and or permit in accordance with the present Regulations has not been obtained. Three kinds of permits exist: a permanent permit, a provisional permit and a trail permit. A permanent permit is given for five years. Article 4 sets out the criteria for the approval of pesticides. Pesticides shall be handled in accordance with directions issued together with the permit. Article 7 provides for inspection, remaining provisions prescribe offences and give regulation making powers to the Minister of Health, the Minister of Agriculture, and the Minister of Trade.
