Abstract This Regulation applies to the investigation of food and waterborne epidemics. It also applied to the investigation of individual cases of diseases, if the pathogen is exceptionally dangerous. It specifies responsibilities of municipalities and the National Institute for Health and Welfare, and the Food Safety Authority. It also provides for the establishment of an investigation working group, its composition and duties. The Food Safety Authority shall be Finnish liaison authority within the World Health Organization's system for following up epidemics caused by food or domestic water.
