Abstract

This Government Decree establishes that in the event of a risk or occurrence of any emergency situations, other government commissions shall not be constituted. Regulations on the Commission for Emergency Situations determines main tasks, order of organization and functioning of the Commission for Emergency Situations. The Commission is constituted in order to implement measures aimed at reducing risk of the occurrence of emergency situations, and in case of their occurrence - at the organization of the elimination of their consequences and ensuring the protection of the population and territory. The main tasks of the Commission are: (a) combining the efforts of central and local public authorities and enterprises in order to prevent emergency situations; (b) checking the ability of management structures to act, the degree of preparation of the necessary forces and means, using them with maximum efficiency in emergency situations; and (c) ensuring the protection of the population, territory, environment and property in case of risk or occurrence of emergency situations.
