Country/Territory Moldova, Republic of Document type Regulation Date 2017 Source FAO, FAOLEX Subject Livestock Keyword Animal feed/feedstuffs Classification/declassification Geographical area CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), Eastern Europe, Europe, Europe and Central Asia, Landlocked Developing Nations Abstract This Government Decree gives new definitions to terminology, in particular describing lot of animal feedstuffs subject to analysis and control as “identifiable amount of feeds with confirmed certain common characteristics, such as origin, grade, type of packaging, and the same packer, sender or marker, and in the case of a manufacturing process, a unit of production originating from the same installation using uniform production parameters, or several such units, in the continuous production and joint storage”. In relation to sampling it is specified that samples intended for official control of feedstuffs must be selected by an official veterinarian whose practical experience is at least 2 years. The sampling equipment should be made of materials that do not contaminate the products to be sampled. Equipment intended for reuse should be easy to clean to avoid cross contamination. The sampling lot size should allow sampling for each component. Within the mandatory monitoring system, certain deviations are allowed only with the approval of the National Food Safety Agency from quantitative requirements provided for required to account for operational characteristics, provided that the manufacturer of the animal feeds can clearly demonstrate the equivalence of the sampling procedure with regard to its representativeness.
