Country/Territory Mongolia Document type Regulation Date 2022 Source FAO, FAOLEX Subject Livestock, Cultivated plants Keyword Animal by-products Processing/handling Ecofriendly products/ecofriendly processes Certification International trade Subsidy/incentive Textile plants/fibres Crops/grasses Geographical area Asia, Asia and the Pacific, Eastern Asia, Landlocked Developing Nations Abstract The Government, with a view of supporting national economy, production and export of value-added final products, shall perform the following arrangements to such purpose: (a) to support the manufacturing of final products by gradually increasing the level of processing of wool and cashmere, and to approve and implement production and trade technical regulation in connection with the production and export of cashmere with quality and standards that have been processed beyond hair separation from 2023; (b) draft a law on exemption from added value and customs duties for importation of industrial equipment intended for processing beyond hair separation; (c) annual formation of the necessary funding sources for the provision of low-interest, long-term, concessional loans in order to support the production of depilated wool, cashmere, cotton, spun yarn and finished products; (d) quality of yak wool ordered by processing plants to farmers and livestock owners shall be implemented by the relevant decision in the field of creation of the legal framework for the provision of monetary incentives to such purpose; and (e) a complex measure aimed at increasing the production of environmentally friendly and sustainable products by expanding the range of externally accredited laboratories for product certification complying with the international level, developing science, production and innovation, and improving the international competitiveness of wool and cashmere products.
