Abstract This Technical Regulation establishes requirements for processing, manufacturing, transportation, storage, trade, export and import of meat and meat-based products. It shall also be applicable to import of pork, poultry products and fish products. It shall not be applicable to meta and meat-based products destined for individual private consumption. Livestock destined for slaughtering must be healthy and originate from areas and herds free of infectious animal diseases. Livestock destined for meat processing must be accompanied by veterinary certificate. It establishes hygiene and sanitary procedures for slaughtering of livestock and post-slaughtering treatment of carcasses. Meat and meat-based products packed in pieces or in bulk must meet food packaging and labelling requirements and standards. Raw and fully processed meat shall be transported separately.
