An Act to provide for the establishment of the Gold Coast Waterways Authority, and to amnd this Act, the Public Service Act 2008, the Transport Infrastructure Act 1994, the Transport Operations (Marine Pollution) Act 1995, the Transport Operations (Marine Safety) Act 1994 and the Transport Operations (Road Use Management) Act 1995 for particular purposes.

Entry into force notes
This Act enters into force on 5 December 2012 except for Part 13, divisions 1 and 6, which enter into force on 21 December 2012.
Abstract

This Act, consisting of 12 Parts divided into 80 sections and completed by two Schedules, provides for the establishment of the Gold Coast Waterways Authority to plan for and facilitate the development of the Gold Coast waterways over the long term in a way that is sustainable and considers the impact of development on the environment; to improve and maintain navigational access to the Gold Coast waterways; to develop and improve public marine facilities relating to the Gold Coast waterways; and to promote and manage the sustainable use of the Gold Coast waterways for marine industries, tourism and recreation.
