Abstract This Act, consisting of 57 sections divided into six Chapters, establishes the Goa Health Services Development Corporation to secure and assist health services for the purpose of implementing the Universal Mediclaim Scheme and health estates/medical tourism/health city etc. It establishes composition, duties and responsibilities of the said Corporation entitled to deal with property both movable and immovable and in particular, promote and assist in the rapid and orderly establishment, growth and development of health services in the State of Goa; establish and manage health estates/medical tourism/health city at places selected by the Government; develop health estates selected by the Government for the purpose, construct premises and make them available; operate any scheme, on behalf of Government, related with health services; undertake Schemes or works either jointly or on agency basis with other corporate bodies or institutions, or with Government in furtherance or the purposes for which the Corporation is established and all matters connected therewith.
