Abstract These Regulations, in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 118 of the Gibraltar Merchant Shipping (Safety, etc.) Act, 1993 and all other enabling powers, the Government, for the purposes of implementing in Gibraltar Regulation (EC) No 782/2003 of the European and of the Council of 14th April 2003 on the prohibition of organotin compounds on ships as amended and provided for by Commission Regulation (EC) No 536/2008 of 13 June 2008, and the International Convention on the Control of Harmful Anti-fouling Systems on ships, 2001, here establish the provisions as regards the necessary vessel/ship anti-fouling system certifications and related administrative proceedings.
