Abstract

These Regulations, made under section 44 of the Geographical Indications Act, prescribe rules for the registration of a geographical indication. They set out requirements for registration and provide with respect to procedures of registration, including publication and opposition. Where the geographical indication is a geographical indication from a foreign country, evidence that the geographical indication is protected in the country of origin is required. The Regulations also concern inspection of registers.
