Abstract

This Regulation designates prescribed potato diseases, requires permits for planting, growing or cultivating seed potatoes and regulates their use. Under section 21, every person who plants, grows, digs, stores, transports or otherwise handles potatoes in a seed potato production area shall ensure that (a) the potatoes were produced within the seed potato production area, (b) the potatoes were produced at the Bon Accord Elite Seed Potato Farm in the County of Victoria, (c) the potatoes were produced at the Plant Propagation Centre, New Brunswick Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Aquaculture at Fredericton, or (d) the potatoes are handled in accordance with a written authorization of the Minister (sect. 21).
