Abstract

This Regulation of the Maldives Food and Drug Authority (MFDA) provides general rules relating to food establishments. Establishment means any building area in which food is prepared or processed and the surrounding under control of the same management. This also includes a part or an area in a building where food is handled, prepared and processed. The rules concern, among other things, location, building and facilities, potable water, utensils and equipment, hygienic requirements for persons handling food and in general. This Regulation shall be enforced by the Maldives Food and Drug Authority or by any other relevant department deemed by the Government.
