Abstract

This Decision of the General People’s Committee declares that fisheries protection zone established by General People’s Committee Decision No. 37 of 2005 is to be measured from the points defined by the geographical coordinates listed in this Decision. The zone is so delimited until such time as Libya declares its exclusive economic zone over which it exercises the rights of sovereignty and jurisdiction which belong to it under its national legislation and international law. The Decision takes into account the bilateral treaties concluded by Libya with Tunisia and Malta concerning the continental shelf and the related rulings of the International Court of Justice.
