Abstract

The present Regulation enforce the Toxics Reduction Act, 2009 (S.O. 2009, c. 19). The Regulation outlines the proposed content of the afore-mentioned Act and builds on «Creating Ontario’s Toxics Reduction Strategy» and on input received from stakeholders, the Toxics Reduction Scientific Expert Panel, and the public through consultations in the development of the Act. Furthermore, the Ministry is soliciting comments from Ontarians to ensure their questions and opinions are considered. The text – consisting of 31 sections – deals, inter alia, with the following aspects: interpretation and application, toxic substances, class of facility, amounts of toxic substance used or created, exemptions, Toxic Substance Reduction Plan, Toxic Substance Accounting, certification, report.
