Entry into force notes
This Regulation comes into force on the coming into force of the Fisheries (Alberta) Act. For the purpose of ensuring its revision, this Regulation expires on 31 October 2016.
Abstract

This Regulation consists of 63 sections divided into 3 Parts. Part 1 is dedicated to licensing. Nine categories of licences are regulated: sportfishing, sturgeon fishing, commercial fishing, fish culture, fish establishment, fish research, fish stocking, salvage fishing and domestic fishing. Part 2 addresses issues related to fish handling and quality. It contains provisions, among others, on fish health, sanitary standards, fish sale and conservation, the use of gill nets and illegal fishing.
