Abstract

These Regulations are organized in 8 Parts and 3 Schedules. Part 2 concerns interpretation and general operation and identifies techniques not constituting gene technology and organisms that are not genetically modified organism. Part 3 regulates the dealings with GMOs, this includes licensing system, notifiable low risk dealings and certification and accreditation system. Part 4, 5 and 6 respectively regulate the Gene Technology Technical Advisory Committee, the Gene Technology Community Consultative Committe and Gene Technology Ethics Committee providing for conditions of appointment, committee procedures, voting system, etc.
