The Programme is based upon the European Union Forest Strategy and it aims at developing the forestry sector in a sustainable manner, supporting the multifonctional potential of national forests, and promoting cooperatives, businesses and producers’ associations. Four National Strategic Objectives are set out: (1) to develop and efficient and modern forestry economy; (2) to preserve the territory and environment; (3) to ensure public and social services provided by forests; (4) to ensure coordination among competent authorities.
