The Ordinance contains at the outset a definition clause relating to various terms therein employed. Once the disease is ascertained, all animals shall be destroyed under official supervisions. The plants have to be disinfected and cleaned according to EU-guidelines. Around an infected area a radius of at least 3 km shall be declared a protected zone. Slaughterhouses within the area have to be surveyed closely. Finally, the Ordinance sets out penalties in case of violations. The text consists of 68 articles divided into 4 Parts as follows: General provisions (1); Protective measures regarding birds in captivity (2); Protective measures regarding wild birds (3); Final provisions (4).
