Furthermore, Section 7 establishes that the principle of sustainable forest management forms the basis of all forest management programs in the Province. The Minister may undertake a forest management planning process involving the assessment of the effects of various forest management alternatives on wood supply. Furthermore, the Act deals with, amongst others, forest management techniques, wildlife management, industrial forest operator information, selective forest research, development of forest products sector, agreements with owners of private land, buyer of forest products, the continuation of the Sustainable Forestry Fund and the Timber Loan Board, protection of forests, prevention and suppression of fires, fire season, restricted travel zone, penalties, etc. The Act consists of 42 sections.
