Abstract

This Order amends the Forestry Act 1967 by adding a new section (7A) which modifies the functions of the Commissioners further to allow them to generate, transmit, distribute, supply and use electricity produced from renewable sources where such action helps achieve climate change targets. This implies complying with the Commissioners' general duty under section 1(2A) of the Act as inserted by the Forestry Commissioners (Climate Change Functions) (Scotland) Order 2012 (S.S.I. 2012/77).
